I have severe and extreme PMDD with symptoms including severe breast pain and swelling, anger, irritability, depression, anxiety, and panic. I've tried exercise, meditation, supplements, and SSRIs without success. Recently, topical progesterone has reduced my symptoms to 6-7 days of misery instead of 2 weeks. I haven't had blood work in a while but was previously told I'm estrogen dominant. Is there anything else I can do to help my PMDD, and are there any dangers associated with using topical progesterone given my family history of breast, ovarian, and thyroid cancers?
