I’m 16 and I had a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis (BV) a couple of months ago. I went to the doctor, got medication, and it went away. However, I started noticing a bad smell even after thorough cleaning, which is not BV. I was prescribed boric acid suppositories, which worked for a while but the smell came back when I stopped using them. I clean myself, drink lots of water, take cranberry pills, and use boric acid suppositories, but the smell returns when I stop using them. I haven’t been sexually active, so it’s not an STI or STD. I recently attempted to skip my period for the first time using my combination pill and experienced breakthrough bleeding for three weeks. I stopped the pills and allowed my period to happen, then resumed taking them. I had unprotected sex after resuming the pills.
