My period is very heavy and has been ongoing for 8 days. I'm changing my pad/tampon every hour due to heavy bleeding with a lot of blood clots. I have to use both a pad and a tampon to prevent leakage. I also experience fatigue and cramps. My periods were regular, but the last five months have been super heavy and long. What could be causing this and what should I do?

I was diagnosed with PCOS/Endo last week and was put on metformin. I started my period last night and it has been SUPER heavy all day. I have bled through 5 super plus tampons in 6 hours and am very painful on my left side. I have taken midol/Tylenol and it hasn’t touched the pain, it feels like I’m being stabbed. The bleeding is abnormal for me as I have the implant and usually have normal/light periods. Should I go get checked out?

I am 77 years old and just discovered fresh blood coming from my vagina. I don't think I have any other symptoms. I had my uterus, tubes, and ovaries removed more than 10 years ago due to a fibroid, and now I have another fibroid on my cervix. I also have non-insulin dependent diabetes.
