I have been on birth control pills for 3 years and recently experienced irregular bleeding after starting a new pack. I had a normal period during the sugar pill week about 10-12 days ago, and now I am bleeding again, similar to my normal periods. Should I stop taking my birth control until this bleeding ends and then start a new pack, or should I continue taking it normally?

I have been spotting on my birth control pills (Junel FE) for 3 months now while still on the active pill. The spotting is brown and I have been on this birth control for a year. I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and started birth control for heavy bleeding. I never miss a pill and take it at the same time daily. I haven’t been having a full period in probably 6 months, just some brown spotting on the inactive pills then nothing. I also have brown spotting on the active pills as well. What should I do?
