Can I file my tax return today, but I will need to set up a payment plan with the IRS? There is no penalty for me, as I had a good standing with the IRS for the last three years. I am 68 years old with one dependent, located in NJ, and my income this year was 108K plus 28K from Social Security.

My mother became incapacitated with sudden dementia within the last year and I, her only son, have assumed POA to manage all her finances and taxes. I need an extension on filing her taxes (previous fiscal year). COVID has impacted my ability to regain steady employment as a teacher, and renting my mother's house in Santa Barbara (I live in New York) is my only source of income. The income is considered joint, as it is my mother's house. I don't want to get penalized or incur any other problems with the IRS. This is where I need help, especially as it relates to COVID.

How do I write off lawyer fees from a settlement for federal tax return when the lawyer included his portion of the settlement on my 1099, showing $15,000 more than I actually received?

A client set up an LLC in 2018 and elected to be an S Corp, but never filed any tax returns and incurred minimal expenses. In 2020, they had some gross receipts but still no tax filings. They mistakenly thought they couldn't own an S Corp as a green card holder. What is the best course of action to handle this situation, considering potential penalties and tax liabilities?
