I have submitted my form along with my first check for $110.00 but have no other contact from the IRS where to send the next check. I signed all the paperwork and sent it back with the original check. Please advise if I am getting a monthly statement. I am inquiring about a 2018 audit and am supposed to get 72 months to pay it back. I have no dependents, am single filing status, and just got social security @ $2095 with no other income. Is there any chance the penalty can be removed from the audit? I have never had an audit or been late with payments.

I have been waiting for 11 months for my deceased sister's tax refund. I am the executor of her estate and need to finish paying off her debts and close the account. I submitted her tax return completed by a tax accountant in March 2020, just before the pandemic shutdown. Her date of death was 12/13/2019. I knew there would be a delay, but 11 months with little information other than 'her account is still being processed' is concerning. The IRS wrote to me as executor about 8 weeks ago looking for her death certificate, which was sent with her tax return along with her will back in March. What could be causing the delay and what steps can I take to expedite the process?
