How do I claim the Employee Retention Credit? The rules mention claiming it as a reduction of payroll taxes each quarter. The IRS says I can get it retroactively. However, the year is long past and I don't know about having my payroll service open all the quarters for 2020. Isn't there some way I can claim it on my corporate tax return, which isn't filed yet?

How should I classify my wife's employment for tax purposes? She works from home doing drafting for a small surveying company and did not receive a W-2 or 1099. What forms need to be filed, and how does this affect her self-employment tax and potential deductions?

I am being sued over my Home Depot credit card. I am a senior receiving less than $1,000 per month in Social Security. What can they actually do to me? Can they take my Social Security, my small savings account, my upcoming stimulus check, my small TIAA-CREF annuity, my Etsy shop earnings, or my home? If they take a lien against my home, can they force me to sell it or do they have to wait until I refinance or sell it at my convenience? I am located in North Carolina.

We received a notice about the second economic impact payment (EIP2) stating that a $1,200.00 payment was issued by direct deposit, but it hasn't been received yet. Additionally, my husband thought our next payment was supposed to be $1,400.00 per person, not $1,200.00. Could you please clarify these issues?

I want to dissolve my LLC with the California Secretary of State using short-form dissolution. Do I need to pay a franchise tax to the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) or meet any other requirements after filing the short-form dissolution? Additionally, I have not conducted any business, filed my articles of organization on October 29, 2020, and have a few questions regarding reportable transactions on Form 5472 and the $800 annual LLC fee waiver due to COVID-19.
