I am 71.8 years old and withdrew my Thrift Savings Plan money in 2015, paying 20% tax on it. I have income from a federal pension, state pension, and Social Security, which is also taxed. I owe $5328 more in income tax. Is there anything I can do to reduce my tax debt, such as contributing to an IRA, given that I am married filing separately?

If you are not currently working, you cannot contribute to an IRA as you need earned income to do so...

Can I take an expense deduction for the fees that I pay to Fidelity to manage my 401k Rollover Plan, if I direct them to take the fees directly out of my 401k account?

If my SS taxable benefit is $17,392 and my taxable income from self-employment is $13,374, what is the percentage/liability my SS is taxed at and my income liability taxed at or estimated taxes owed total?

I lived in NYC from January-April and my wife worked in NYC the entire year. Her W2 shows NYC wages, which is roughly a third of her total wages. When we file the NY part-year return, do I need to allocate my NJ and NY wages to NYC while we were living in NYC? For example, if I made 100K, do I need to allocate about 33K to NYC since I earned that money while I was a NYC resident?
