I am an American citizen living in Denmark for the last 40 years. I recently retired and due to technicalities, I cannot get a full pension in Denmark. I am looking for guidance on what social security benefits I might be eligible for and what tax papers I need to file in the US. I have not been able to get help from anyone yet and have discovered that I should have continued filing US taxes after moving to Denmark, which was never communicated to me. I need help understanding what to do and what to file for tax year 2022.

I received a notice from the State of Michigan stating that I owe them $4754, even though TurboTax indicated I owed zero on my Michigan return. I filed when I was in Florida and left most of my paperwork there. I'm now in Michigan and need to understand what to do about this notice, especially since I don't remember ever seeing a Michigan Pension Schedule (Form 4884), which the letter mentions.

I'm having issues with our tax return and need someone to talk to ASAP about our taxes. They're saying we owe some taxes, but we shouldn't owe any. I took care of my brother's children when he was in prison, and there are issues with documentation and head of household status. What should we do to resolve this?
