I am an F1 student who entered the US on August 14, 2017, and received a total of 240K dollars from my parents, with 190K sent to my US bank account before I entered the US. Am I considered a US person before I entered the US, and do I need to fill out Form 3520?

I have a dependent who is 18 years old and we claim on our taxes. He received a 1099-INT (<$1050) and a 1099-Q (all used for education expenses). Does he need to file a separate tax form? And since the entity reported the 1099-Q to the IRS, do we need to also file it on our taxes?

I was about to finish my tax files when I lost my file. I can't find it. Can you please help me? My computer is a Gateway and several years old but has been kept in very good condition. I have never had a problem like this. The file was just not available when I wanted it. Is there a way they can look and find my file? I have been working on it for about two weeks and was ready to finish, but I can't.

I sold my home and bought another, but the IRS is saying I owe tax on the full sales amount. Is that correct? I made a mistake and failed to record the sale of my home in my 2016 taxes. They said I owe taxes on the full amount, but I had to pay off equity and bought a new home. So that does not seem right.
