I am considering having a tax professional prepare my personal taxes for 2018. I am planning to leave JustAnswer due to financial constraints and would like to know the process for having my taxes prepared outside of JustAnswer. I want to ensure that every possible deduction and benefit is considered, especially given significant medical and dental expenses this year. How can this be done, and what is the cost?

My parents want to add me as JTWROS to a brokerage account with stocks, bonds, and funds, that will currently pass to me in their will. We all live in PA. Assuming I don't access any of the assets, does/could this cause a loss of step-up basis for some portion of the assets?
