I coordinated with my employer to have my entire paycheck deposited into my HSA until I hit a certain amount. Due to an error, they deposited $1000 more than I asked, putting me over the maximum HSA contribution for 2016. Payroll corrected the next paycheck, but now I need to return the $1000 excess to my employer. Payroll advised me to write them a check from my HSA, but I'm unsure if that's appropriate since it's non-medical related. My credit union does not have a special form for distributing excess contributions. How can I return the $1000 to my employer without incurring a penalty or tax on it, since it's just going back to my employer?

I have a 21-year-old daughter who lives at home and works full-time. We paid for her health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, but she filed her taxes and is now having problems because she did not pay for her own health insurance. What additional filing requirements do we need to be aware of, and how should we allocate the health care costs?

My husband and I missed the deadline for a written audit and now have a $7000 tax bill. We may petition the court by May 31 to dispute. Should I call the IRS for more time or send a notice to the court? I believe I can get the information they need, including a receipt from our son's college for the American Opportunity Credit claimed using TurboTax software.

How should I report a Danish Pension on Form 1040 for a client who is a US citizen living in NY, and what additional forms, if any, need to be filed? The client's spouse is collecting the Danish Pension, which amounts to $9,250 in US Dollars, with $10.56 in taxes withheld.

I was in the US on an H1B non-immigrant visa from October 2012 to January 2013, and then returned on an F1 visa as a student in August 2014. Should I be filing a tax return for my presence in the US for four months in 2012 and for the year 2014 when I was on an F1 visa?
