I currently work 2 jobs and filled out a W4 form for my second job, but it is not withholding taxes because I marked myself as exempt. I want to ensure I get a refund at tax return season and that I'm paying enough in taxes. How can I adjust my W4 form for my second part-time job to achieve this?

If I have mailed in the SS8 Form to the IRS and am waiting for results, but I qualify to be a 1099 employer, can I switch all of my employees over to 1099? Do I have to wait for the results of the SS8 form? All of my employees function as independent contractors and it would save me a great deal of money to switch over to 1099.
