I have questions regarding my personal taxes from 2020 and 2021. The carry over from 2020 to 2021 did not take place, and I need to know if I neglected to pay the 4th quarter estimate. What do I owe?

My wife and I own a business registered as a C Corp. We have a formal office as well as an office in the basement of our home. During the pandemic, we transitioned to a mostly work-from-home setup and have continued to do 99% of our business from there. We would like to do some improvements on the basement to make it more 'workable' (paint, new carpet, etc.). Can these be categorized as business expenses on our books even though it is in our home, or would we need to pay for this through a payroll expenditure (i.e., give ourselves a bonus and pay for the repairs that way)?
