I filed my tax return on March 21 through TurboTax for direct deposit. My status is single/divorced, and my refund amount was initially $2461, but was corrected to $1061. I received a notice on April 25. I am concerned about eviction and need my refund urgently. TurboTax sent an amended return on May 18, stating it should be processed by the end of the week. What should I do to expedite the refund process, and are banks allowed to hold direct deposits if ordered?

Why haven't I received my refund yet? I filed my taxes using TurboTax in February 2021, and in March, I was asked for a copy of my husband's death certificate, which I sent. I used EFile.
