I filed my taxes for last year and I was deployed to Eastern Europe from June 2022 to October 2022. I currently owe $2,319 in federal taxes and I don’t know why I owe that much. I am 22 years old, single, and made $28,532. I wasn’t self-employed at all during 2022. What could be the reasons for this tax bill and what steps can I take to understand it better?

We have not renewed our business license or paid our county occupational tax since 2012. I don't know where to begin to calculate what we might owe. Is it realistic to think that a tax attorney can "feel out" the situation and make an offer in compromise to avoid some of the interest or penalties if I self-report?

I sent in my 2021 income tax paperwork in July 2022 but haven't received my refund. I mailed the forms, and it appears they were not received. Is there a way to resend them by fax? Also, is there a way to file my 2022 tax return without mailing it?
