I had a mix-up with filing my tax form last year. I paid what I owed and the IRS received the money, but the form 1040 did not get to them. Consequently, we did not receive December's $600 stimulus check. I was not aware that they hadn't received the 1040 until I filed 2020's taxes. I was able to declare that we did not receive the money and so we are now due a refund. However, we have not gotten our refund or the $1400 stimulus checks for this round. When I check their websites, it just says info not yet available. Should I just keep waiting? I'm afraid we will lose the $4000 due us.

I was the Trustee for my brother's Special Needs Trust. He died in June 2020. I have now received 1099-INTs and 1099-Rs. Do I have to file income tax for him with the 1041 form? The first question asked is what kind of trust it is (as in Simple Trust, Complex, Grantor...), and I have no idea.

My checking account has been closed. I have another account already for direct deposit. I am retired, located in Cedar Park, TX, and do not file a tax return. I am 74 years old with no dependents. I don't make enough on retirement to file. What should I do to update my direct deposit information with the IRS or SSA?

I received a letter stating my stimulus check was issued, but I haven't received it yet. The letter mentioned contacting the IRS if I didn't get it. Is this letter valid, and will I still receive the third stimulus check?
