I had my taxes filed by H&R Block on Feb 7, but later received a letter stating that my 1099 forms were not included. I sent the required information to the IRS in Austin, TX, but have not received a reply. Will I get my refund, and is there a way to track its status or contact the IRS for assistance?

We mailed our tax papers on March 8 but have heard nothing. When we call the refund number, we are told they cannot give us any information. We would like to know if the material even reached the correct office. We talked to our CPA, who advised us to call the IRS again and get a name and number to which we can send a copy of the returns. What do you advise?

I have a registered LLC in the state of California as a manager-managed company. I am the only owner, have no employees, and want to switch to an S-Corp. I faxed the necessary forms last week. How do I know if the IRS has received my form and if my file is currently in the process of being revised? Also, can you confirm that an S-Corp versus an LLC is a good way to avoid paying taxes as an independent worker and LLC manager?
