I have a state order stating that the other party has custody of my child, but I claimed one of my children as a dependent on my 2022 taxes. Am I in trouble for that?

I need my W-2 forms for tax years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, but my former employer has retired and I can't access them through my ADP app. How can I retrieve these documents, and what should I do if my taxes were filed incorrectly for those years?

We spent $70,000 of our own money to restore our property to its original condition with new cabinets, appliances, HVAC, and received $140,000 in insurance proceeds. Is the $70,000 difference between the insurance payout and our actual expenses taxable, and how does this affect our adjusted basis and potential capital gains tax on the sale of the property?

I need a telephone call with a tax expert. I am 56 years old, located in Tulsa, OK, with no dependents, and made $70,500 this year. My filing status is single. I also have a question about an ESOP payment that I may receive from a former employer this year. What will be my taxes this year, and what are the tax implications of the ESOP payment?

I have been named the executor of my mother's estate. I know she filed an extension request days before dying, but her tax preparer told me that her 'Personal Rep/attorney' would file for her. That person has now been fired, won't return my mother's tax documents, and we have opened probate with a new attorney as there is no original will or trust. Not sure where to start in tracking things down, but I'd like to find out if the fired attorney filed anything with the IRS. Mom's old tax preparer will not discuss! Any advice?
