Our tax return was denied because it says someone is claiming me as a dependent. I have called for weeks and can not get anyone to answer. Can not get taxes done until I find out who is claiming me as a dependent. My brother who I live with is the only one who can claim me. It's his taxes we are trying to file. I received a letter two weeks ago saying someone had filed a tax return 1040SR using my name and social security number. I do not file because I only receive social security. Letter 5071C. I called and spent about an hour on the phone and they said I would receive a letter saying it had been taken care of. I am about to pull my hair out.....
