I received a certified mail from the IRS stating that my husband owes over $3,000 due to business expenses, and my name was included as a joint recipient. We have been separated for over two years and just filed for divorce last week. The debt is from 2019, the last year I filed jointly with him. If he does not pay, will I continue to be held responsible for this debt in my personal taxes? What should I do to protect myself?
