I'm starting to take on some work as an independent contractor (outside of my W2 day job) and want to know if it's worth setting up an LLC to simplify finances? The work would require travel/meeting with clients, and will be pulling in income every month. Is this a sole proprietorship or single-member LLC? In what state will you be filing the LLC? Are you claiming it in the state where you're a resident (especially where you're filing your taxes)?
