I'm a 22-year-old student and dependent of my parents. I worked in Iowa and Illinois, earning $2,656 in Iowa and $28,706 in Illinois. I noticed discrepancies in my W2 forms, with box 1 showing $28,706 and box 5 showing $30,418 under Medicare wages. Do I need to claim the Iowa income, and why is there a difference in the amounts on my W2?

I need to speak with someone about my return being rejected. The reason stated is that the IRS does not have my name or SSN on file. I recently got married last year, and my wife already has an updated SSN. I called the IRS, and they said everything was in order on their end for both me and my wife. I also made sure to check all my info in my tax return, and it was all correct. What should I do?

If I move a short-term appreciated stock to my son, and he sells it right away, what will be considered his cost basis? Will it be my cost basis or the market value at the time of transfer?
