I'm a 70-year-old resident of Iowa with a single filing status and no dependents. My income consists mostly of Social Security, which is $17,169, and I earned $3,800 in wages where Social Security and Medicare taxes were withheld. Do I need to file taxes this year?

I filed my taxes already with TurboTax. I'm divorced, and my ex and I both claim a child. I claim one and she claims the other. I paid health insurance for both last year. My ex's tax return was rejected when she tried to file. Do I need to provide the 1095-A to her?

We have a salon full of booth renters. One of the stylists is way behind on her rent. We've tried to help her keep on track and repay her back rent, but we're at our wits end. We were thinking of offering for her to be 1099, where her clients would pay the salon instead and we would deduct her rent then cut her a check for the remaining amount. Is this ok, and how do we put that on her check/1099? We still want her to be able to use the rent payment as a tax write-off.
