I'm doing taxes through TurboTax in California. My husband, a deputy for LA County Sheriff, took leave last year for the birth of our child. TurboTax asks to check a box for paid family leave if any income was earned as paid family leave. I checked it because he did take leave, but it significantly changes what we get back from California. Should I click that box if the state did not pay him, and his work did, but I'm not sure if he was paid from his sick time or vacation time?
