I am starting nursing school in CT and am worried that an amended tax return, which is finished but not filed, will affect my in-state status for tuition. Additionally, I am concerned about how this amended return might impact other aspects of my life, such as renting an apartment.

We filed our income tax return by paper on or about 2/23 and sent it return receipt requested, receiving the green card on 2/26. We used the IRS 'Where's My Refund' tool but found no information online. We are located in Mechanicsburg, PA, are 75 years old, married, with no dependents, and filed jointly. Our income was $199,446, and we are expecting a refund of $3,400. It has been 4 months since filing. Will we get our refund soon?
