I own a non-listed company abroad and was informed that there is a regulation about deemed dividend, meaning even if the company did not pay an actual dividend, I have to pay dividend income tax to the US tax office on the net income of the company. I was also informed that there is a way to defer this kind of tax imposition and I would like to learn more about it. Specifically, I want to know: 1. Is it correct that there is a legitimate way to defer the taxation on deemed dividend? 2. Is there a limitation to the number of years that the shareholder can defer the tax payment on deemed dividend?
