I moved to the US in 2021 on a Student F1 Visa, studied for 8 months, then extended my F1 with OPT starting October 2021, then STEM OPT in October 2022. In 2023, I moved from F1 to H1B in Oct/November. In 2024, I transferred my H1B to a new employer. I spent ~342 days in the US in 2023 and ~335 days in 2022. What will be my residency status in 2024 for tax purposes, and can I consider myself a Resident for tax purposes as of 01-01-2024?

I have an LLC with 2 foreign members. Member 1 took $30,000 for work done from his country as a consultant. Do I need to file Form 1042 for this? Is this $30,000 considered a consulting expense or a guaranteed payment for the member?

I received a handwritten $1,667 check as part of a settlement for unauthorized cutting of trees on property owned by my late grandfather. I didn't get a receipt and can't contact the person in charge. Can I claim the $1,667 as additional income?

I would like to stop my rental contract. One week ago the landlord said I have to pay for 1 additional month, now he said I have to pay for 4 additional months if I want to get out of the rent. Does the contract have to say exactly how much I have to pay as a penalty?
