I need clarification on Illinois sales tax and use tax for a sign company in Chicago. Specifically, as a contractor, are we considered the purchaser and should not withhold sales tax from our customers? Instead, should we be expensing use tax? Additionally, can we be exempted from use tax reporting and remittance using our certificate of registration number? If not, how do we report and pay use tax to the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR)?

My housemate, who has been doing my tax returns with TurboTax for the past 2 years, has passed away. I need a copy of my 2021 state and federal tax returns for low-income housing applications, but I have no information on how she did it online or with software. I am disabled and find it difficult to use my hands, making it challenging to navigate this process. How can I obtain these tax returns?
