I'm an H1B visa holder who got married in my home country in 2021. My wife is an H4 visa holder, and we filed taxes jointly this year. Is it okay to file taxes as married jointly even though we don't have a US marriage certificate? Additionally, can I file an amended tax return for 2021 once I obtain my wife's ITIN number?
