I have a client who filed a 1041 last year with rental income and expenses, resulting in an overall loss with no tax consequence. The client has since quit claim deeded the property to herself and her sister (50/50 beneficiaries). My question is, do I simply mark the box final since the property was not sold, or do I "dispose" of the property and show no gain?

Can I use an online tax preparer to do my deceased grandmother's 2022 taxes? I'm the executrix/personal representative. She passed away in September of last year, I'm still in the Probate process, and I'm pretty sure that I will have to do her "Final Taxes" next year since she still has an IRA and other accounts that have not been distributed to the beneficiary.
