We had been filing joint tax returns from 2002 to 2015. Is it possible to obtain tax return records from the IRS for previous years beyond the typical three-year limit, such as for the years 2007 to 2012? Additionally, how can I confirm if there are any unpaid taxes from our joint returns, and if so, would the IRS have contacted both of us if there were any issues?
