I need to resolve a complex matter concerning the payment of my 2021 income tax. I took advantage of the IRS extension in 2021 and did not file my taxes until June 21. I had to pay a more than usual amount of taxes due to unexpected income from a Texas Tomorrow refund. I filed electronically using Turbo Tax and mailed a check on June 13, 2021, but the IRS later claimed they did not receive it. I stopped payment on the check and mailed another one. However, the original check eventually cleared the bank after I had stopped payment on it. I received a check from the Treasury in February 22 for $12,166, and recently got a voucher saying I owe $11,921. How does this get straightened out?
