Can I file a loss on LINEQ, LINN Energy which filed bankruptcy? The 2016 1099 lists the losses and mentions a merger under the losses. I cannot initiate a loss on a sale as the stock was purchased over time through TD Ameritrade and is now listed as an escrow account after a Voluntary Exchange Offer. Additionally, the 2017 form 1099 does not mention this stock, but it was listed on the 2016 form. I have been using Turbo Tax and want to ensure I correctly offset some capital gains.
