I want to know if my 2018 tax return has been resolved. I am 75 years old, live in Jacksonville, Florida, and have no dependents. My husband passed away in 2018, and I was advised to refile my tax return as single. I was left a house and filed it under inheritance, but the lawyer sent it in as income. The IRS said I owed $12,000, but after speaking with them and refilling, they said they were working on it. I have not filed anything since. I make around $21,000 from Social Security.
