I work for Shell in the Gulf on a platform in international waters. I live in Mexico and fly from Louisiana to home via private plane every 2 weeks, coming and going from work (helicopter to platform from LA). I am a U.S. citizen, but my permanent residence is in Mexico. If I work in international waters and live in another country, is my income taxable? My husband and I own a building with 4 rental apartments in AZ, managed by a real estate company, while we reside in NJ. We want to start an LLC for this investment. Should we start the LLC in AZ or NJ? Does it make a difference for tax purposes? If we plan to start a small home business in the future, should we use the same LLC or start a different one?
