My son worked for the first time this summer and made $4000. He also received $21000 in scholarships and grants, with almost $10000 going towards tuition. In the past, he has not worked and I counted him as a dependent, with the scholarships and grants going on my taxes. Does he have to file taxes this year, and if so, does that mean I do not need to use him as a dependent on my taxes for 2018?
