I’m finalizing my 2021 federal tax return. I have only Social Security income and no W2. When using the Earned Income Credit (EIC) look-back, can I use line 1 on my 2019 1040 even though those wages were earned by my wife who passed away in November 2020? I’m filing as head of household with my youngest son as a college dependent.

I have received a large cash bonus and a significant capital gain this year, which will significantly increase my income and taxes for 2022. My withholding for 2022 is estimated to be $464k, which is more than double my total taxes of $203k in 2021. Given the general rule that estimated tax payments are due if withholding is less than 90% of the current year's tax or 100% (or 110% for AGI >$150k) of the previous year's tax, do I need to make an estimated tax payment by September 15, or can I rely on my withholding to cover my increased tax liability for 2022?

I am an independent contractor who makes videos for a company and commutes to Las Vegas every week. I want to purchase a Mercedes GLE for my content, which is eligible for Section 179. I need clarification on why some people write off the full value of luxury SUVs in the first year and how my situation fits into tax regulations, especially since I live in California but work in Las Vegas.
