My brother and I have inherited a house from our father in 2016, which is owned by a living trust. We want to continue benefiting from Proposition 13 in Santa Clara County, CA. I was a pastor during 2005 and 2006 and filed for both years claiming the 4361 form, which states I do not have to pay self-employed tax. However, I never received approval from the IRS for this form. How much trouble can I get in for incorrectly filing two years in a row, and is there any way to fix this?
