My ex-wife was awarded 100% of my Military retirement pay until death of either party. It states in the divorce decree that this is not alimony or support, but a division of property. I currently pay the ex-wife 100% of the gross pay of the MRP. She has not set up the direct payment from DFAS at this time. Can I claim the 1099-R MRP as alimony or support?

Is there anything special I should know about filing taxes now that I am 66 years old? I didn't file for Social Security until my 66th birthday. I am single and work part-time, earning $16,667.87 in wages, with $947.57 in federal tax withheld, $10,955.18 in Social Security wages, $1,276.89 in Social Security tax withheld, $20,594.92 in Medicare wages and tips, and $298.63 in Medicare tax withheld.
