My husband and I are both disabled and receive Social Security. We have had sole custody of our child for 5 years. How can we claim her to help with expenses? We are located in Louisiana, my husband will be 74 in June, and I will be 72 in October. Our typical filing status is together, and our income this year is approximately $32,000.

My employer changed the way they pay their employees last year, from non-independent to independent contractor. For the same job, I received 2 separate W2s and a Form 1099 NEC for tax purposes. Do I add both W2s to arrive at the total for each of the separate specified box totals it is asking, or is it a mishap that needs to be changed?

I received a 1099-R form from an insurance company with $53 in box 1 and zero in box 2a, and code W in box 7. My tax software is adding $53 as taxable income and won't let me bypass it. Can I just not include the 1099-R form on my tax return?

I filed my taxes and never received my expected refund on April 12th, 2021. I am located in Philadelphia, PA, I am 30 years old with no dependents, and I made roughly $19,000 this year. What should I do to track my refund and what steps should I take if it is still not received after a certain period?

I need to take an early withdrawal from my 403b from my previous employer and plan to deposit a portion of it into my current employer's retirement plan within days of withdrawal. Do I still have to pay taxes and an additional penalty tax?

Last year, my friend received a $500 other dependent tax credit. This year, he is 20 years old and still a full dependent. He made about $29,000 in 2019 and $6,000 in 2020. He is single and located in Illinois. What filing status should he use, and is there anything else the accountant should know before I connect him?
