I have been a TurboTax customer since 2003. The IRS sent me a request for unpaid taxes from 2018 asking for the 'initial year where we paid AMT and show how we figured that out'. I have gone back to 2013, which is all I have record of, and it appears we have always paid AMT in those years. How would I begin to figure out when that started, and how can I address the IRS's request for information on a carry-forward amount from 2017 to 2018?
