My husband and I separated in May 2009, and we agreed that I would be claiming our two children on my taxes as they would be living with me. However, when I went to file my taxes this year, they were denied because he had claimed one of the children, and he will not tell me which child he claimed. Is this legal and if not, what can I do to fix it?

I received a warrant letter from the Commissioner of Taxation and Finance stating that I owe $3,700 in taxes, penalties, and interest for periods ending 5/31/07 and 2/28/07, despite never conducting any business or applying for a mobile vendor license in NY. What should I do to resolve this issue and avoid potential legal consequences?

I cannot change my Federal Tax exemptions. It has been more than three years, and I would like an increase in my federal exemptions. My federal exemptions have been at zero for a long time, and although my refund is sizable, I believe too much tax is being taken out. I work for the Federal Government. What do I have to do?
