I have finished my taxes and just need to file. What are my options for filing, and which method is more efficient and error-free?

My tax preparer for over 15 years has not responded to me in 2 weeks, and I don't know if he did my taxes. I am thinking I should file for an extension but have never done it before. I am located in Charlotte, NC, 54 years old, single, with an income of $190K, and no dependents. What should I do if he has already processed the return, and what system or site do you recommend for doing my own taxes if necessary?

If I take the simplified deduction for a home office, which is $5 per square foot, do I still need to list expenses such as electric, phone, wifi, home mortgage interest, home insurance, and repairs?

I will be claiming my daughter as a dependent for 2022. Will she still be eligible for the federal standard deduction when she does her federal taxes? Her total income for 2022 was about $15,100, including $14,280 in earned income and the rest in investment income, and she had about $1,200 in federal taxes withheld from her paychecks.
