In Texas, can a homestead exemption limit the Tax Assessed Value from increasing more than 10% after a sale? We purchased a house in TX and moved into it on December 29th, 2021. Our loan agent and escrow account were set up assuming we would have a homestead exemption and our property taxes would only increase 10% from the previous owner's taxes. However, we received a tax assessment of 1,800,000, which we believe could be protested to our purchase price. How can we get the homestead exemption to take effect?

I am allegedly the beneficiary of a special needs trust, but I can't find the fiduciary. Suddenly, I am receiving tax questions and requests for tax fees for the first time. I don't know what to do, especially since I am on SSDI disability and have never received such requests before. Additionally, I have been involved in a situation where I used a gift card as advised by a government agency, and now I am being taken to court for the amount on the card. How do I handle these issues, including tracking the trust and resolving the tax and court matters?
