As a part owner of a liquidating heavy highway construction company, I have capital gains from my investment. I want to avoid taxes. Can I avoid tax by maxing out contributions to 401K/IRAs or gifting to children, especially if the child is under 24 and jobless?

I received a mail from the IRS about the Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. I am an international student on an F1 visa and mistakenly claimed the aid. I learned that it is only for resident aliens, not non-resident aliens. What should I do to avoid future trouble while applying for OPT, H1, or paying taxes for this year?

I’m still waiting on my federal tax refund that I filed mid February. I talked to a Ms Hightower at the IRS advocate and she filed a request for me on 11-18-20 and told me to wait 4 weeks and then call back. I’ve been unable to reach her and would like to know about my refund. I received social security for a little while and then found out I wasn’t eligible and have been paying it back at $350 a month. Didn’t have an issue last year and I filed the same way. I have been using the same tax agency for over 15 years.
