Will starting to collect Social Security benefits in January 2021 increase my income, which will subsequently increase my student loan payments? Or does Social Security not have taxes taken out of it? If taxes are not deducted from the income, is it not considered income and thereby not affect student loan payment currently set?

An individual taxpayer has a $212,000 balance due on their 2019 1040 to be filed by October 15, 2020. The taxpayer would like to be granted a monthly installment agreement to pay off the balance. Does a Form 9465 Installment Agreement Request need to be filed with the 2019 1040 along with a Form 433-F? Alternatively, should the taxpayer just file the return and wait for a collection notice to request an installment agreement?

In previous years, I've seen softcopies of my husband's W-2 and our joint tax return. This year, he has not shown me either. We have a company and typically my husband gathers the information to provide to the Small Business Agency, which requests both my W-2, his, joint tax return, stock, etc. for both on separate websites and logins. Due to high tension in our marriage, he has been reluctant to share his financials, W-2 information, and the joint tax return. How can I obtain this information?

I am selling my house in CA and in an agreed addendum, it is stated ‘Seller to credit Buyer $25,000 for recurring and non-recurring closing costs in lieu of repairs and Buyer will hold harmless Seller from any future claims.’ Will I be able to deduct this $25,000 as closing costs from my profit when doing my taxes?

I am selling a jointly owned property in Puerto Rico with my girlfriend, who is a Puerto Rican US citizen, while I am a non-Puerto Rican US citizen. We both reside in the US. What are the tax implications for this sale, including withholding rates, capital gains tax, and any additional taxes such as the Net Investment Income Tax?

As a Canadian citizen with a US green card, I worked in the USA until July 31st and then returned to Canada due to COVID-19, continuing to work remotely for a US company. Starting January 1st, my payroll will be from a Canadian company instead of a US agency. What are the tax implications and the best way forward?
