I am interested in the history and value of a hair receiver marked HandPainted Japan with a small floral logo. The piece is porcelain, flattened oval with a lid, about 4-3/4” wide and 2-1/2” high including the lid, and the paint is mostly blue and gold. I have no information about its age or provenance. Can you provide any insights?

I have a Jean Ostrow painting that I would like to know the value of. Can you assist me? The painting is an oil on canvas depicting a coastal scene with stormy clouds, signed 'J. L. Ostrow' at the bottom left. It measures 24" x 48" for the art and 25 ¼" x 49 ¼" for the frame. It is in good condition and is believed to be around 20 years old. The painting was part of an inheritance from my father's art collection, and we may have the purchase receipt.
