I have a copper ice bucket that my dad got while in the navy. I am curious about its age and value. I am 48 years old, and I know my dad retired when I was 3 or 4, so it's at least 44 years old. The condition is good, but I have nothing to compare it to. Is there anything else important the Antiques Appraiser should know?

I've received a quote of 80 to 86% of spot. What is the difference in value after all expenses from melt-down value vs. selling on other platforms, and how can I identify pieces that might be more valuable?
