We have a very old version of a van Gogh painting that is not an original. We are in upstate NY and would like to know where a local appraiser could be found. The painting was passed down through a family over 100 years, is in excellent condition, and came with an old frame. The glass covering the painting broke during storage, but there are no markings on the back. The paper is thick and textured on both sides, and the painting is approximately 18" by 24". What is the value of this reproduction and the frame, and how can we proceed with appraising it?
